Super Easy Cinnamon Rolls!! So easy- a 9 year old can do it. Yes, my son made these without any assistance. I only supplied him with a recipe and suggestion on how to roll it out onto the counter. They were delicious!! I only got the photo above, from that batch
**UPDATE -Luckily he has made them 4 times since that first batch, so I was able to get some more shots. He absolutely loves making these. He can whip them up in no time at all. They have taken over his obsession with potatoes, well at least for now. LOL!!**

VEGAN Cinnamon Rolls
Dough:
2 C Flour (he has used, whole wheat, white wheat, and added some barley flour when he was running low on the others.)
1 t Salt
1 T Baking Powder
4 T Vegan Butter
1 T Baking Powder
4 T Vegan Butter
3/4 C Almond Milk
For Sprinkling:
2 t melted Vegan Butter
3/4 C Sugar (he used Palm Sugar)
3/4 C Sugar (he used Palm Sugar)
1 T Cinnamon
Preheat oven to 450F. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt and baking powder. Cut in the butte, then using your fingers massage the butter into the flour mixture.
Pour the Milk into the flour/butter mixture until the dough gets thick and soft. Work the dough with your hands if necessary. Ball up the dough and set it out on a floured surface. Roll the dough into a long rectangular shape. Brush the top with melted butter and sprinkle with sugar/cinnamon mixture.
Then just roll it up and cut into rolls. I suggest cutting in the middle and working your way out. Place the rolls in a greased baking dish.
Bake for 12-14 minutes, until golden brown and puffy. Top with frosting (below)
Frosting:
1/4 C powder sugar
1T + milk or water
Add sugar to a bowl, and add just a bit of milk, stir up and add more as needed. If you add too much liquid, you will need to add more sugar. Stir until you get the desired consistency and pour over yummy cooked, but cooled a bit, cinnamon rolls. ENJOY!!
Just made these and they came out really delicious!! They were so easy too!
ReplyDeleteThanks - but beware, they are sooo addicting. And if you have someone in your home, so inclined to make these a lot, you can not stop eating them. I finally told me son, no more cinnamon rolls for a few days. I got a sad face, but I just can't help myself, they are sooo good. ;-)
ReplyDeleteI cannot wait to try these. They are easy and look amazing! thanks for the warning too ;)

ReplyDeleteI've made these with my kids two weekends in a row now. They are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteI wonder if these will work with coconut oil instead of the vegan butter.
ReplyDeleteEarth Balance Has A Coconut Oil Butter Thats Vegan. Im Going To Try That And Coconut Milk In Place Of Almond Milk.
DeleteCan I make these ahead of time and store it in the fridge overnight?
ReplyDeleteWe have done that several times, just make sure that you cover them tightly. ;) Enjoy!
DeleteJust made these...I think I cut them too thin as the last cinnamon rolls I used yeast with...I LOVED how I didn't have to wait for rising...these were fast and taste delicious...thanks!
ReplyDeleteI‘ve just made those wonderful rolls. They look amazing and taste absolutely gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteCould i use an all purpose gluten free flour? :)
ReplyDeleteI loved the texture, but they are way too salty for my taste...
