Who wants to ride the Green Smoothie Bandwagon with me?
If you are feeling a little heavy lately and need to recharge, or if you just want a fun challenge and to see if you CAN do it....
Here is the 14 day Green Smoothie Takeover.
Replace one of your meals with a Green Smoothie each day for the next 14 days. That is all there is to it. Sorry, nothing more exciting than that, but let me know how you feel, or if you did not make the full 14 days.
NOTES:
1. Use any greens..these can be Spinach, Kale, Dandelion Greens, Beet Greens, Romaine, or whatever you have in your fridge that tickles your taste buds.
2. Water can be substituted for milk or yogurt if you prefer. (don't add water to your baggies)
3. Blend your greens and water/milk first to decrease any chunks of leaves. If you are not pre-freezing them.
4. If you use fresh fruit, you may need to add some ice cubes if you want a thicker consistency.
5. If you use frozen fruit, always place them on top of all other non-frozen ingredients in your blender, or else you will get a thick frozen mess at the bottom and it may not get blended correctly.
To make this as simple as possible, here are 2 basic green smoothie recipes:
1. Easy Peasy
1 C Water
Fill Blender with spinach
Blend.
Then Add:
1 T Coconut Oil, liquid form (optional, do not freeze)
1/2 C Shredded Coconut
1 can of pineapple or 1/2 a fresh pineapple chopped
1 Banana
Then Blend & Enjoy!!
2. Sweet Sensation
1 C Water
Fill Blender with spinach
Blend.
Then Add:
1 Banana
1/2 can of pineapple or 1 c fresh pineapple chunks
1/2-1 C Frozen Mango
Then Blend & Enjoy!!
----------------------------------------------
To make it even easier - get 14 baggies and fill them with your chosen ingredients (minus the Water/Oil...you will want to add that in when you blend to get your desired consistency, not in the baggies) ...then all you have to do is dump them into your blender each day, blend and drink. What could be easier? You can do this..!
If you don't think you can hack it for 14 days....

I love the idea of pre-packaging my smoothies. I'm a bit confused though, do you pre-blend your greens and then freeze it? Or do you just freeze the spinach fresh? Also, how many smoothies does one bag serve? I'm used to just eyeballing it to fill up my blender.
